Welcome to the Half as Well Podcast, where two halves of the same couple approach Tolkien from VERY different places- one, a seasoned veteran of the lore and the other, a skeptical beginner to Middle Earth. Whether you’re an old fan of Tolkien’s Legendarium, a fan of the Peter Jackson films, or totally new to this world and wondering just what the hell this new ‘Rings of Power’ show is all about, come join us as we travel through Arda, from the Shire to Valinor! Reading through Tolkien’s entire legendarium can seem as daunting as Sauron’s Eye, but we hope that we can guide you on this journey and finish up just in time for the new adaptation.

Starting with Tolkien’s most accessible and charming book, The Hobbit, we’ll then roll right into the epic sequel, The Lord of the Rings. If you’re still with us by the end of that, you’ve proven yourself a true wizard, and ready for the next challenge- The Silmarillion. After Tolkien’s two most popular works, we’re going back to the beginning of Time itself, and working back through this epic history thousands of years before Frodo Baggins and discovering the myth lying beneath the legends.
